But, I like when someone has put it together and put their heart into it. And no, I don’t need constant gassing up — for me, it’s a personal journey to push then envelope and do things I would enjoy as a viewer….but, feedback is always helpful both the good and the bad. Case in point, this recent thank you e-mail:
Made it to Urban DictionaryFriday, July 10th, 2009Talked to a friend who just found out I’m an adult video director — “go-on Google me” I said. Sure enough, a bunch of stuff comes up — some it having to do with a baseball player — but, the most interesting one — to me, at least was the entry on the Urban Dictionary. Not sure how I feel about being a dictionary (okay, it’s not a biggie like Websters but knock on wood, I hopefully still have time to get above a slang term)…any way the link is here (vote me up please) – http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=EnriqueCruz And when you use words like artistic peak and my name — well damn if that makes doesn’t me feel like I’m doing something right…. here it is: Enrique Cruz is a famed director of black and latino (blatino) gay pornographic films based in New York City. His production company is called Lamancha Videos. In the mid to late 1990s, Cruz’s films helped to usher in a new era for black gay pornography. His films were innovative in that hip-hop culture influenced the behavior of the models/actors filmed on screen. He also used hip-hop music as the score to his films rather than elevator music, house, or techno which had been the norm in black gay films before Cruz came on the scene. Cruz’s actors/models tend to be young, urban, masculine, homothugs, regardless of their sexual role. His films also portray down low Boycott: Ft. Lauderdale?Wednesday, July 25th, 2007by Enrique Cruz Seems the website: Cruising for Sex (listings of places to get some) they are mad as shit at the entire city of “Ft. Lauderdale” — and calling for Gays to boycott spending time there. They offer this: “gay people spend $64 billion dollars on travel money per year so clearly our dollars can help (or hurt if withdrawn) a local economy. ” — As someone that travels to Florida I don’t see much about it as “anti-gay”…but, I’m sure I’m missing some of the details — (could have something to do with the fact that I’m not out in public crusing for sex). I remember here in New York City they cracked down on the Parks, and public bathrooms…and I also remember not caring about that either. Ultimately, if you are really cruising for sex…I’m sure you can find more than your share at myspace.com.
