Quite some time ago, long before Rudolph attacked Eighth Avenue, I visited a male move house. It wasn’t the Adonis. In fact, I forget the name. It was just a sleazy man club, I had a few drinks on 42nd street beforehand, so I wasn’t well geared to deal with hustlers.

Well, then. I was watching a porn flick when a very good-looking young man approached. My dick was raging, to be sure. He led me into the basement of the theatre and then he sucked me off like nobody’s business. I was aware at the time that my wallet was in jeopardy. But, when you’re getting head like the head of your dreams, you kind of blank out.
I shot my load into his mouth. Then I realized my wallet was gone and I freaked. There I was, in that dingy, disgusting cellar, with that cocksucker. Then I remembered what what my best friend told me: tenacity. I didn’t give up. even as the vile hustler was telling me that I must’ve lost it it the theatre. But I persisted. I searched. He got pissed off as I kept looking. Then I saw truth - he had flipped my wallet out of my pants while he was sucking me off.

The best part? He pretended to be happy when I found it. The better part? When I told him I had $300 bucks in it. Let me tell you - I bought drinks for everybody at La Rousse that night.

Teabagging. I didn’t quite know what it was until a straight bud educated me. This is yet another sexual thrill for the straight guy, be it done by a buddy or a girlfriend.

For me, it’s empty. I just don’t get it. There are dudes who love having their nips suck and it leaves me cold. Simialrly, with teabagging, which translates to dropping your nuts into somebody’s mouth. So many guys get off on it, it staggers me. They love having their balls sucked. I don’t. It’s too vulnerable an area, for one thing. For another, there’s no sensual pleasure for me. Then again, though…I like the guys who like it. It’s an easy way to get a bud off, and they go fucking crazy. Makes me feel like a woman, in a way.

I sincerely hope that as gay porn becomes more integrated, more mainstream, we won’t lose so many stars to drugs. As we have in the past. Sure, some stars survived. Roger, Jack, a few others. But too many went the way of heroin and early death. Like the fantastic Lee Ryder.

What was it? The nasty underside of the business back then, a combination of shame and wild partying? Joey Stefano, Vincent, even the relative newcomer Haus Weston - all gone. I wonder what made them turn to drugs. I suppose it could have been that filming gay porn back then was just too traumatic. I’ve known amateur stars, too, who passed away from AIDS. But usually, from all the bios I’ve read, it was smack. Let’s let sanity take over. Men make choices these days. And if there’s anything to be said for increased gay freedom and rights, it just may be that we don’t watch more talent die from a needle.

Not long ago I paid tribute to a vintage top, Jon Vincent. Now it’s time to salute a man who really led the way in topping, and who was probably the first Latino star of his day. Anthony Gallo.

I used to think he was Italian. Well, the last name is Gallo, after all. But it turns out he was Brazilian. And he was very, very hot. Is he still with us? I hope so. I used to marvel at that chest - I’d never seen one so sculpted. Then there was his big uncut cock and the passion he put into all his scenes. He was balding, he was handsome, he was hairy, he was sexy as anything. Just to watch Gallo eating ass before plowing it, those pecs heaving…I never needed anything more.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more of a turn-off to me than funky music playing in sex scenes. It may work just fine for mainstream films. It can amplify dramatic tension. It can, at best, provide wonderfully ambient background.

Not with porn, though. It just doesn’t belong and it actually removes whatever reality the most staged sex scenes can offer. Let’s face it - most gay porn has, to this day, awful dialogue (ironically, the bigger the producer, the worse the script). Better to keep it as realistic as possible. And most of us don’t have soundtracks blasting when we have sex.
